III Creating New Folklore Award Marazuela


Carlos Soto, former Celtic and member of the group Awen Magic Land, won the New Building Award Agapito Marazuela Folklore , which failed in Valverde del Majano and has reached its third edition.

The jury highlighted the positive developments are taking this award, created to remember the figure of folklore Agapito Marazuela master, and to promote the new creative teams who base their work on traditional themes. The president of the jury reviewed the musical biography of the winners, and emphasized his "found work" in using the English musical structure with melody and rhythm of the new sounds, which also sees the influence of Celtic roots. Carlos Soto, Valladolid birth, served for five years from group 'Almenara' with whom he recorded two albums. In 1984 he formed the group Celtic, who left in 2004. From that year he began work on the project Awen Magic Land. The last paper presented at the prize was named 'Castijazz' with that proposed a musical journey through the world based on traditional rhythms and melodies of English inspiration.
